All of the eastern lands are not beautiful. The cliffs, the southern border of the Unule packlands, are bleak and stark of all nourishment, save for one small underground spring near the meadow. Though they are unattractive, the cliffs are an excellent source of shelter due to the numerous caves in them. This is where the Alphess, Hitoban no Fokkusu, resides.
